| JaNita has been sewing for as long as she can remember, starting with those itty-bitty Barbie doll clothes. She began quilting in 1976, becoming more serious through the years and she started teaching about 14 years ago. "I became drawn to crazy quilts, I get to use ribbons, buttons, every kind of thread imaginable and all the lucious fabrics. There are very few rules in crazy quilting, which is what I love about them. I especially like executing the stitch work and designing quilts around themes." JaNita recently completed a white-on-white crazy quilt, which then led her to make a black Halloween themed quilt. Both of which will be on display at the quilt show, along with many other examples of JaNita's talent. "I am a stay-at-home mom with three lovely children, the best husband in the world and a home whose remodel may never, ever be done." |
